Oyster catchers flying

Large squarish plate featuring 2 oyster catchers. I never see these alone, most often in pairs, and before I see them, I hear their distinctive and piercing Peep peeep! They fly fast and furiously then land and mooch about in quite a lazy fashion. Part of the river bird collection.
Made from red earthenware clay and decorated with coloured slips and a glossy glaze.

Perfect for wall decoration and could be used as a serving plate. Washing by hand advisable.
